Challenges and Goals:
When telecom infrastructure products started to become a commodity and the telecom operators starting to be more focused on Opex, our client needed to reinvent themselves and their way of approaching the market to be competitive and remain as market leader.
The new challenge was to develop a line of products with heavily reduced Landed Cost, and Opex and a much faster Time To Market (TTM) with full or improved functionality and quality. The challenge was also to make sure that Supply can be used as a competitive advantage as well as all the new products being compliant with the corporate strategy.
Plant Growth role and solutions:
Plant Growth was assigned the responsibility for Landed cost, TTM, ensuring Supply as a competitive advantage and to align the new products with the corporate strategy.
Plant Growth repackaged the product offer to the market, developed and founded a new Supply strategy as well as established a new Supply division developing the most cost efficient supply chain, sourcing matrix and production infrastructure in the market.
To enable the new strategy, Plant Growth also initiated and managed a 1,5 year long change program to change the mindset and behaviors from over 20 years of routines, processes and ways of working.
Results:
Truly a paradigm shift within the industry. A "solution and service" approach to the market, backed up with dynamic and modular design, -development, -supply/sourcing solutions in all areas, utilizing the best resources and suppliers on the world market.
Transfer- and "new global introduction" of several new products and product lines, resulting in the most cost efficient Landed cost solution in the market. Supply is a competitive advantage and all the new products are compliant with the corporate strategy.

"Consolidation and transfer of 8 R&D centers into
2 global centers"
Due to global competition the high tech development- and consulting service market is forced to lower prices while maintaining or increasing quality and performance. The customers also demands higher level of engagement and outsourcing alternatives.
Consulting- and development firms have to repackage their offer and adjust their internal processes accordingly. This means finding low cost alternatives that can operate with the same level of quality, lead times and competence.
Plant Growth developed a Strategic Checklist to clarify the client envisioned wanted position. Plant Growth facilitated the process of repackaging the client's product offer based on the wanted position.
Next step was to identify the right partner for their strategic choices and needs. As a solution Plant Growth and the client initiated a BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) -process with a Bestshore partner.
The whole project including the BOT was fulfilled with all requirements delivered on time and excellent customer satisfaction.
Reduction of Time To Market and initiation of new projects was heavily reduced.

AN IT CONSULTING COMPANY
In order to maintain existing global clients and attract new clients it was a strong demand to move larger parts of the outsourced operation to low cost countries while maintaining quality and performance.
The prime challenges were that our client had to act fast, no offshore experience existed and it was important for the client to gain as much control of the offshore operation as possible.
Plant Growth role:
Plant Growth was responsible for analyzing the pros and cons of different offshore destinations, engagement models as well as what should be offshored, recommending the bestshore strategy and implementing the strategy through offshore provider procurement, establishment, transition and managing the whole Bestshore operation during 2 years.
A JV was established in India, initial ramp up took 3 months and first transition was successfully completed within 6 weeks. During the two years period the Bestshore operation grew to 40 on-shore resources and 120 off-shore resources and both our client as well as end clients business requirements were fulfilled.
